Gloria Petyarre was born c. 1945 and had her first solo exhibition at Australian Galleries in New York in the early nineties and after in many other important Australian and overseas group exhibitions. Her art features in a number of books and her paintings are represented in permanent collections in major public and private galleries around the world. In 1999 Gloria was awarded the prestigious Australian landscape prize – “The Wynne Prize” by the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Gloria Petyarre was one of the most successful and significant artists.
