Sharon Numina was born in 1981 and attended school at Kormilda College in Darwin. Sharon is one of six sisters and three brothers. Her mother Barbara Price Mbtitjana, an elder painter and cultural elder and painter from Stirling Station near Tenant Creek, taught all her daughters to paint.
Sharon is the youngest of Numina sisters. Sharon, her sisters and her mother comes from a long line of desert painters of the contemporary Aboriginal art and dot central desert art movement from well renown painter aunties, Gloria and Kathlyn Petyarre.
